Depends on the format of the score.
If you're patient enough to do it one note at a time, NoteWorthy Composer converts all its notation into a plaintext description when you copy anything to a text field (notepad, etc). This is my main strategy for reading music from midis. As mentioned, though, it takes patience, since you effectively need to copy each individual note. (This is much faster with NVDA, but NWC's already weak accessibility is even weaker with NVDA.)

I expect, though, that you're interested in reading formats other than midis or sheet music in .nwc format, for which I am useless.
