Magnetic toys and anxiety.

Hi everyone.

I have anxiety and have found that magnetic toys are amazing for it.

When I was a lot younger, my nan or Grandmother brought me some magnetic toys called GeoMag and I'd play with them for hours.

I'd make triangles, 3d piramids, huge square cube shapes, circles and things like that.

For those that have anxiety or get nervus quite quick, have you tried magnetic toys like GeoMag Bucky Balls, NanoDots et cetra?

I ordered some magnetic toys online and can't wait to play with them.

The fact I can fiddle with them and calm down and make shapes I'm interested in is amazing.

I can get lost for hours making shapes.

I get quite nervus when going to the dentist. I'm quite nervus when having injections and must admit the dentist I'm seeing at the moment is very nice and understanding.

The reason I bring this up is because I had a time in my life, and think I may have it again, when I thought about a dentist appointment that I didn't even have. (My Nan or Grandmother, hadn't even booked it yet.)

Here are what my thoughts were like. It's going to be horrible, they're going to give me injections, I'm going to hate it. Honestly, I  can't say those were my exact thoughts, it was a mish mash of all those things and panic, mostly panic.

I know that with my magnet toys I will be able to calm down when having a panic atack like that again.

I'm not sure exactly how long this panic atack lasted but I know it was at least around 3 to 4 weeks.

Days would bleed into one another. My nan and aunties tried to help but it didn't work. Well actuallly one thing did work that my nan suggested, counting coins.

I'm not exactly sure how I snapped out of it, I ended up going to the dentist for a check up and the guy was very nice and understanding.

I was meant to go back a couple of months ago but honestly, stayed up way to late and fell asleep and missed it.

I'm going to go back in a month or so and this time I'll get a clean done with the pick thing, I don't think I'm ready for machines just yet but hopefully I will be soon and if i'm not, that's okay because I have all the time in the world.

Funny thing is, I got my tooth broken in college and had to have an injection for that and was okay with it but now, the thought of an injection makes me quite nervus.

I hope I didn't make anyone nervus. I wanted to tell people about this experience and show them how magnetic toys help me.

I'd heighly recommend magnetic toys for stress and anxiety or depression. For me; having something I made sit on my table knowing I can break it and make something completely different is awesome!

Have you tried it or if you have anxiety or depression, do you think this kind of stuff would work for you?
