I agree, but that wasn't quite what I was getting at. While both extreme viewpoints have serious flaws, one positive aspect of being more conservative is that you don't just shoot your mouth off at every tiny little thing that dissatisfies you, which is what a lot of these people do nowadays. I do think that greater availability of technology plays a role in this, but it's not the whole story. It's just much easier to be impulsive when nobody's going to stop you, not only because they won't, but because they literally can't, and there are no social, familial, or any other consequences that are going to come of it. In fact, not having a filter seems to be praised, and that's something I truly don't understand. I realize that hoping for balance at this point is basically a wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills up first scenario, but I guess one can dream.
