Interesting about the 2001 timestamp.
I noticed that the AM3D Diesel power engine was released around 2000.
I can't seem to find it these days though the company still seems to exist.
And that thread I referenced was from 2011 so people were playing this at least somewhat more recently.
I hope the 3D effects are in software because I'm on Windows 7 and have a basic sound card so the hardware effects wouldn't work that well for me anyway.
