The puzzles, like a good portion of this game, are only difficult the first time around. They just become annoying after multiple playthroughs. SO are the flight sections at times.
Anyway, this game isn't even that hard by mainstream standards. There are far more difficult games out there, and this game is trying to make it just as challenging to provide some type of entertainment to people looking for something to spend their time on. Anyway if you really want to see how bad things can get, go play bk2. The agony is real as you had no stats and generally it was lots of grinding to not get wrecked so easily via buying hp with gold.
Though if you can push your way through the last two stages, the game afterwards is a lot easier, since you'll hae access to better weapons like the snake chain and the scopes with clear medal crafting. Hell the snake chain turns the final boss into a joke for many difficulties, especially if you push him against a wall to keep spamming the throw and whip multi-strike.
