If you have read enough of the forum to see people recommending it, you should also know -why they're recommending it. But here's a short list:
Customizable skill/spell trees for all characters
Great environment navigation
Immersive audio both in and out of combat
An engaging storyline
Dozens of quests
Multiple difficulty modes to help tailor the experience to your playstyle
Good voice acting
I mean okay, there are issues too, but those are the main selling points. And they are easily found if you do enough research to know that people recommend the game.
