So one of the things I'm having a blast with now is the character and profile customisation. it's purely cosmetic, but it's just a lot of fun being able to actually change that stuff.
and SLJ, the complete killer instinct guide is a good bet to help get you started as well as maximilian on youtube.
Combo assist if you can turn it on will help, and to be honest it allows you to play the game normally even when activated.
