@post 1592, I haven't played the game in a while, but you're not looking for an exit. There are teleporters that make 0 sound in one of the rooms. If it helps, the room has passages seeming to lead nowhere on the west wall. Unfortunately this is the least dumb puzzle in the after story, so get used to scraching your head and wondering WTF?
@post 1593, the BP bonuses don't stack. They go away after a single playthrough. As for the speed item, if you choose not to carry it over you can just go to the forest of winds and kill the keeper again. It'll be in the chest once again. If you choose to carry it over, the chest will contain something else, not sure what. The answer is no, you can get the speed boost more than once if you screw it up.
As for getting extra BP, the more items you collect, the better. I'm also pretty sure that shiny monsters, the ones that make a soft dinging sound, raise your BP up by a bit.
