@2 @4 I dunno, I wouldn't be so keen to say things like "inherently" and "I know". It wasn't too long ago that people would have said things like "I know Minecraft will never have voiced menus". From what I remember there have been good conversations on these forums about ways that it could be made more accessible.
Also don't forget that there are plenty of low vision & legally blind people who benefit from voiced menus despite having some degree of useful vision, and gamers with no sight who play with some sighted assistance.
But yep absolutely, it's all about the pieces!
There are blind gamers who won't touch games that have fully accessible gameplay just because the menus aren't accessible, on the basis that they think gaming is supposed to be fun not a struggle with OCR and menu guide workarounds. So making progress across the industry on the menu piece of the puzzle means that any work that games do on the enjoyment and interaction side of it is more valuable, can reach more players.
