@Defender, oh yes, forgot about warsim, and there's traders of known space as well.
Currently slide and block party are listed under puzzle games, along with the likes of mine sweeper.
I freely admit this is not an easy distinction to make. At the moment those games which directly simulate some sort of management, EG commanding an army, distributing resources, or buying and selling tend to be listed as strategy, where as those games with a more abstract concept like mine sweeper, block party or slide tend to be listed as puzzles.
Obviously though this distinction isn't perfect, since some strategy games have spacial or puzzle elements, EG the spacial logic for moving and unit placement in tactical battles, and many puzzle games require strategical thinking.
Indeed, I'll likely be writing an entry for Shuffle cars today, and while I'd class that as a puzzle game, what with the sliding, I freely admit it is a strategical one.
then, when we add traditional games onto that, things really get complicated, Chess is after all almost the quintessential strategy game, despite it having been around for hundreds of years.
