The way I understand it is that new releases is for both actual new releases and new discoveries. So basically if it hasn't been posted about, it's ok to throw up a topic here.
On the diku subject, that is not true at all. There are a few good diku muds out there. Yes a lot of them are just clones, but there are some like otherworld and 4Dimensions that have a lot of modifications and some great mechanics. You can't judge a book by it's cover, and you can't judge a mud strictly by it's codebase.
As for realism, yes sloth mud has more realism than some muds, even paying for a room at an inn is realistic. But as one of the muds I used to play once quoted, "If I wanted realism, I'd go outside."
