Ah, takes me back to when I still had some sight and used to make crude animations using paint and windows movie maker. Back when youtube wasn't owned by google and was much more a community, making skits for each other. Happy days. It sounds odd, but I almost admire the way Google had such an understanding of user psychology that they were able to destroy the social network side of youtube literally overnight. It was kind of breath-taking how easily they did it,even though I lost e-friends because of it. They wanted people to use google plus for socialising to better monitor people's interests and stuff, while having them watch the ads on youtube, rather than spending time chatting on each other's channels. It was a diabolical masterclass of user manipulation. Though google plus still failed eventually. So there's a crumb of comfort in the fact that they ultimately failed to force migrate the entire youtube userbase.
