So many of these games are not supported by the dev now. Yes you get anual releases but once they hit, support for the previous release seems to stop. NO backwards compatability support or anything. The reason I bring this up is because lately a couple of people have contacted me wondering if there's piracy going on here. This is a grey area to me and one that I do not, exactly, know how to respond to for the reasons I've mentioned above. If something's no longer supported by a developer, then, surely it's up to a community to preserve it, if they so wish?
I'd argue this is not like a book, or movie. Movies and books keep on getting republished. Not so with some of these games. I haven't heard a peep from Nether Realm, for instance, about MK Deception, Unchained, etc, since the mk vs dc universe days, and now we're on to mk9, mk10, and mk11.
You can still buy some of these on Amazon and ebay from various sellers, but what happens to them when all those discs are gone?
