quietstream and mousecat, maybe at least one person's solution?
Hello all. So I got a new system recently and it had some issues, such as the soundcard going to sleep after a few seconds of silence causing me to miss the start of a lot of speech or sounds, and it also has an annoying mouse pad that I wanted to disable. I have 2 very small programs to fix the issues, and I decided to release them encase it helps someone out their with 1 or both of these issues. It's especially annoying with bluetooth headphones. So both of these you can just place in your startup folder and they will run in the background. One of them constantly streams silent audio through your default playback device, which in almost all cases will prevent your soundcard or bluetooth headphones from entering sleep mode causing you to miss parts of speech or sound. The other installs a low level hook that blocks all mouse events, thus disabling annoying laptop touchpads. I'm not sure about the reliability of that last one, it seems when I open task manager it breaks at least on my system, but maybe I'll improve it and fix it at some point. They are both extremely simple programs that are under 500 bytes of code, but none the less they may help someone. Source code included with both applications.
