Most likely he used the Circum Reality version, which uses a pretty buggy SAPI5 implementation of the Festival Speech Synthesis System. There was a Keynote Gold voice done by datajake a while back, where he recorded several sentences from an actual BrailleNote (to create your own voice you have to record several sentences), but the tradeoff was that the more sentences you recorded, the less responsive the voice would be.
