@8 Cool, thanks. To be clear, I was surprised to read that Netflix was inaccessible on the Shield in a November 2018 review, precisely because it *has* been accessible on my phone/tablet since 2012. Granted, there have been issues, but the review I read claimed that the *Shield* Netflix app didn't let you do more than add an account. You couldn't browse its listings, couldn't view series details. All you could do was say "Play X on Netflix." to access the app.
As an Android developer myself, I assume they're using some different UI codebase on Android TV form factors, and that codebase isn't accessible. But that isn't the case on my phones/tablets, where it works just fine.
Anyhow, thanks for the pointers. I got off the eyes-free list years ago and have heard from multiple sources that it became an absolute dumpster fire. So I don't really miss it, and am not even terribly excited at tredding through yesteryear's dumpster fires. Ugh, maybe I'll just save my money. Still can't quite go out and buy just any old piece of tech I guess... *grumbles goodnaturedly*
