"Invalid operation on int" means one of two things: either it thinks something is an int when you treat it like something else (see the "what is p?" issue), or that the variable was not correctly defined (or the name was mistyped), and has been referenced more than once.
If it's that you have two "p"s, and you want the global one instead of the local one, put two colons in front of it.
::p.play
, for example.
