best synergy to pair up with necromancer is Cleric.

  This isn't so much an issue within the early game, but let's just leave it at Altar Aeon does multiclassing badly. A lot of the damage that's usually done for casting involves cast levels. And to an extent, skill levels for warrior/thief. These have a greater magnitude in your ability to cut through things without taking a small eternity. Considering how equipment worked last time I play, item stats are really restrictive on what could be placed within the 6 slots open. Usually pieces only support a single theme, having a cast level, and some stats, or skilllevel, some stats, some hit/dam, etc. 

  This means that with the previously mentioned combinations, you can be a necro or a mage, a necro or a warrior, a necro or a Druid, but not be able to do both at the same time. tThis is compounded by the fact necro minion stats are heavily reliant on the cast level you maintain, rather than when you used the minion ability, unlike druid. if you switch equipment around to try to put in clevel or sklevel into your set, your minions actually get weaker. The Most multiclassing you do is a few utility spells or skills from your other 5 classes, and your primary class tends to be the main thing you do. The idea of raising other stuff is for when your primary class sucks for tackling whatever you're trying to overcome, such as warrior/thief for dealing with a mob in a nocast room.

  however, cleric has a lot of utility spells and skills that do not really scale that high off cast level. Mainly, most people tend to value mana regeneration over cleric cast level in order to keep up with heals and groupcasts of spells. As well, sanctuary's effectiveness cap stops at cast level 30, and just gains duration above that.

  Let's also not forget other stuff that helps with the quicker annihilation of demons and the like through Censure demon, some of the curses that tend to land fair enough if you take cleric to 38, and of course, healing your necromancer pets. Necromancer equipment as well usually comes with lots of mana regeneration due to how some of the minion mechanics work with the animate golem series of spells starting with clay man.

  Any othr class options just turns into something you switch to when excessive bloodmist/rotting sphere/demonfire spamming is not cutting it. Cleric actually let's you use the majority of the spells it has while in a necromancer castlevel set.
