Re: please stop telling us to switch

I think most people are genuinely trying to help you, but some are doing it in a particularly stupid way because they've gotten impatient, which means they should probably STFU and let the more reasonable folks try now.
They know it's going to be super hard to learn another language, so they are trying to stop you before you get really in to BGT, so that you can switch more easily now instead of with allot more difficulty later.
It should probably mean something to you that Oriol Gomez and Liam Irvin, a couple of the big guys, are switching to other languages.
I don't think most people really care at all if your first hobby projects are in BGT, since in all likelihood they won't really be worth playing anyway, but the worry is that if you do get really good, you'll continue producing games in a language that the average user won't trust do to anti virus concerns, that is quite easy to steal sounds from, and which has a few important limitations that are really hard if impossible to code around, particularly when it comes to online play.

I'm not a programmer, I probably never will be, but hell, maybe that gives me a more non biased view.  And from what I see it's getting easier and easier to use Python for audio games do to things like Americranian's tutorials, github repositories from forum users, and now Lucia.
I know it's still not easy, and you don't see the point for smaller stuff, but put your self in their shoes and you may understand why they are worried about having too many people that only know how to code in BGT.
Of course I do agree that it's pretty shitty to bomb an unrelated thread with "switch to Python!" but aside from the tactless trolls, I don't think it should be a crime just to mention it since it really is a big issue; something which I'm sure you can agree on even if you don't want to switch your self.
