I wonder if you have to be doing other things while you walk around. I had most of the walking transformations in my party while I was just out levelling other stuff up via wild encounters, the generation of which requires plenty of walking around, and they eventually transformed. Mutmo took longer than the others, as did Donammer for some reason, but I think I did more uninterrupted walking with those. you on the other hand transformed your Donammer quickly, which was during the game where lots of battles and other things would've been taking place.
