Well I assume your using an iPod touch since it's the only accessible one out there. Try replacing the charger because it might be going bad or have a short in the wire. You might need to call apple to have them replace the battery. There are instructions on apple on how to replace the battery but unless you have sighted assistance it would be pretty difficult to replace the battery.
