I need urgent help understanding why people need urgent help
Okay, maybe it's just me, but recently I seem to be seeing the word "Urgent" overused way, way, way too much on this forum. As some examples of what really is urgent:
If your computer has stopped working properly, and you absolutely must use that computer to do your job, school work, etc., and you do not have access to any other computer, then that is urgent.
If your hard drive containing your only copy of an important document E.G. college thesis has crashed, and that document is due today or very soon, and there is no possibility to extend the deadline, and there is not enough time to recreate the document, that is urgent.
If you are having a heart attack and need to go to the hospital, that is urgent.
If you need money to pay for rent, a hotel room, etc. right now, and if not paid you will be evicted and thrown out on the street, possibly losing everything you own, that is urgent.
On the other hand:
If you are trying to install a program, particularly a game or something to help you play games, and it isn't working, and use of this program is not required by school or work, this is not urgent.
If you are stuck in a game and need help to proceed, and again, playing this game is not necessary for school/work/your livelihood, this is not urgent. It can wait.
If you are having problems programming something, and it is not required by school/work/your livelihood, and you are doing this because you want to, not because you have to, it is not urgent. It can wait.
