Re: A Gift To You, From JenniOS

Agreed. You aren't bound to join this contest in any legal way, after all, so if you want to do it then you tacitly accept that there may be restrictions and such.

I personally wish that people would be honest, and not submit multiple names, but unfortunately history tells me that some are more than willing to stack the deck a little in their favour by creating throwaways. any reasonable measure to circumvent this behaviour, in my books, is a good thing.

And to those of you who have already joined the contest and tried to get past this restriction, shame on you. To those who are thinking strongly of doing it and cheating your way into multiple entries? Shame on you as well. Someone is doing a good thing by providing a free thing for you, and being grabby is just ugly.

We have a sticky game request topic, and in the interest of fairness I'll say this much. If any user of this forum is caught engaging in this sort of behaviour (i.e., making multiple submissions to improve their chances), I will officially update that thread and suggest that this user be permanently blacklisted on the forum so that no one ever gives them free stuff again, or at the very least that no one ever again takes their request for free stuff seriously. I'm not even kidding; if this were something we'd hammered out rules on, I'd be happy to ban users who did this. That's how upset it makes me when people do it.

Now, with all that having been said, no one has actually done it yet, as far as I know. So please don't. Just save yourself the headache, and don't. One submission per person. Don't cheat the system. Don't try to one-up others by making throwaway accounts to improve your chances. If you get caught, it won't go well for you.
