Well, if you say alter ego is a candidate for a life sim, I think you could also take jim Kitchens rendition of the game of life. Yes, it#s a board game and not a life sim really, but you can have a family and kids, so it could be counted in.
Someone said that he developed a sims kind of game, don't know what happened to it though.
