Re: NBA legend Kobe Bryant has passed away

You know what truly is disturbing to me? Not that people get worked up about celebrity deaths, not that they somehow take precedence over the death of Mrs. Parker from down the street.
No. What disturbs me is the attitude on this topic.
Guys. A man died yesterday. Despite his checkered past, despite what he allegedly did, this man had a wife. This man had four children. And that wife and three of his children just lost a father, a husband, a sister. No matter what he may or may have done, show a little compassion.
DanGero brought up a point I was going to. Michael Jackson allegedly did some things to children. That was proven untrue. And regardless of what Kobe may or may not have done, and if you knew him or not, he was an inspiration to millions.
You may not have heard of Stan Lee, but when he died, I was crushed. He inspires me every day, even after his death, to follow the examples of the superheroes he created, including the one who's namesake I currently use for my username.
Kobe Bryant, despite what he may or may not have done, is inspiring the next generation of basketball players.
Michael Jackson has and will continue to influence generations of musicians, despite his alleged sex crimes towards children.
Show some compassion. A family has lost a part of itself. The basketball community has lost a part of itself. Kids everywhere may have just lost their personal hero. There are many other people less deserving of a rest in peace, this man certainly deserves one.
So, all that out of the way, rest in peace, Mr. Bryant.

SpiderMan, you took the words from my mouth. I really don't like how some of the people in this topic are just like: meh, sucks to suck. He's done bad things, so I am just not going to worry about this death. What if you had lost a father, a husband, a sister, that had allegedly did wrong in the past? Think of it from Kobe's family's perspective.
