If you want a surface device I would go with the surface book 2 or surface laptop 3 because they might be more fitting to your needs, the normal pros are good, but they are more tablet than laptop. You can get the 13 inch book 2 with an i7 and 256 gigs or more of storage for about 1000 dollars on the free market.
Other alternatives might be the Asus Zenbooks, Dell XPS13 or hp spectre or foleo laptops.
