Re: infini crawl, text dungeon crawling rpg similar to the wastes.

@Aaron, that is a fair point about Infinicrawl remaining an easy pick up and play game, and it's something I appreciate myself. However, for me, it's always a question about whether the complexity in an rpg is active, or passive.

I personally am really not a fan of games where you have to do a massive amount of equipment/skill/stat balancing outside, of battle, and then during the battles themselves your limited to just attacking and hoping the dice rolls favour you, since effectively in that case, the game is more about micro management than going out and facing your enemies, and you might as well be investing in the stock market as adventuring.

What I do personally enjoy though in games, is when your given new situations and circumstances to react to along the way. Different monsters to fight, different options for attacks or abilities which might be more or less useful at different points, deciding when to use a given item, an equipment system which lets you focus on making the most out of the gear you find in trasurechests and loot, rather than just equipping that one specific set of gear that happens to best maximise one set of stats or skills, whilst you chuck all the other loot away, whether you can afford to use that healing potion, or whether to risk dodging another strike, or perhaps you can save the healing potion for later by using the item that stops your enemy from attacking for a while, since if you can get through the fight you can heal up then, etc.

Again, it's up to Malachi how things go, but personally, whilst I love the fact that you don't' have to roll stats or balance and minimax given skills or the like and can constantly progress, I also would definitely be in favour of giving the player more things to play with and more decisions to make along the way.
