so when you hear the barrier coming it might come from the right or left but when it does wait until it starts coming back toward the center then use your boost and steer left or right. even if you hit the wall in most cases you will avoid the barrier. Also once you get used to the level you will find out wich barriers are closer to the right or left in position. A note on stats is that you can reallocate them at anytime so if your health stat isn't what you need for a mission then zero it out and use that point on something like top speed or cornering or whatever is needed.
