Well, the guns you get from the shops really aren't that great no matter how much your attack goes up. The super buster blade which has a base attack of 3000 has trouble even with monsters in stage 23 if you use it by itself without conjunction with other weapons. I'd say the most important spots to put points are attack, defense, stamina and hp. Tech is something that comes in handy after your first playthrough since there's no more shops to buy things from and you cna then unlock more weapons, but far as I see it's not that important if you have it where it's at now.
