Yep, the disadvantage to being on the defensive is that you will usually have to wait and see what you're up against before you can defend against it. This applies every time something new is brought to the table, unless you are well versed at attacking yourself and find the bad things before others do.
But this has not too much to do with games anymore and should probably be moved elsewhere, and therefore I shall cease my rambling.
