Re: Come take a look at my awesome, revolutionary, and unfinished game!
I strongly feel that the fact that people don't associate prototypes with the developer room is simply because very few people have previously used it for such purposes. Kind of like how most people get really confuzzled at the prospect of putting pineapple on pizza. Of course, not everyone likes it when they do try it, but there are also lots of people who are like: 'Hey, I wasn't expecting this to be good, but it is!' I don't mean to start up the whole pineapple pizza lovers versus pineapple pizza haters debate again, because such a debate often causes the indifferent people to weep in misery at the sheer agression of everyone involved. Although, if someone wants to make a prototype, they could always make a game where the pineapple pizza lovers and the pineapple pizza haters face off in the most spectacular battle ever witnessed. But I digress.
I don't see why prototypes couldn't be going into the developer room, to be honest. It would be advantageous to devs who are just starting out as well, because then they wouldn't have to deal with people complaining that a bunch of features don't even work. Yes, there might be less users reading that forum, but at least the users that do read it know exactly what to expect and will - hopefully - be more constructive, resulting in an end product that ultimately more people will enjoy once it's suitable for the new releases room.
