A suggestion.
Could this game be turned in to left 4 dead / world war Z like style? I mean in those games, you can play in solo or you can form a team, but your objective is not simply to survive the incoming zombie hoards, but you also have other objectives like rescuing hostages, disabling generators, kill the zombie boss, and many more.
