Friend is thinking of Switching to NVDA But Looking for Some Features
My friend has been using Jaws for quite a few years now. He says he may consider switching to NVDA, but there were some specific features he was looking for. I'm working on a portable copy of NVDA that has the things he's looking for, but I need a bit of help. I'll outline the features he wanted, along with the steps I've taken to help him out.
he asked for a way to rap to the top or bottom of a web page when you press a quick navigation key. I found an addon that does exactly that, so we're good on that front.
He wants a speech and braille manager, similar to the speech and braille manager found in Jaws. I have the Audio Themes addon installed, and I also changed some of the NVDA sounds to the Jaws sounds, such as toggling between browse mode and focus mode. If there's anything else I can add to his copy of NVDA that will give him more of what he's looking for, please do let me know.
* In Jaws, there's apparently a key you can press that'll show all open windows so you don't have to alt tab through them. To my knowledge, there's not really an addon for this, so I'm not sure what to do about it.
That's all I can think of at the moment. If you guys have any ideas on how to make his transition between screen readers more seamless, please let me know.
