Frostforest PCM Driver (also known as FPD for MS-DOS) is a freeware MIDI software synthesizer for NEC PC-98 computers made by Hideki Fujii (alias MKR, the representative of the doujin circle Frostforest), Akito Monden and Hisayasu Kuroda. It has the same features I descrived in post 1. It was shareware, but after some time, they decided to go further and ported it to Windows, and it became freeware. The Windows 95/98/etc. versions would come being FPD95 (first Windows port, and equivalent to the original FPD for PC-98) after FPD97 (new set of PCM tone waveform data, which is the set used in FPD98 by default) and FPD98 which is the last in the series. Since FPD95, it's shareware until today.
