Indeed, the experience will be smoother with voiceover in all aspects. Keep in mind that android is not software +hardware, that's why it needs to acustom itself to the hardware it will be operating on. I've been using android all my life, and when I got for the first time an Iphone 5s I was like a little kid with a brand new toy. Hahaha.
