Really sorry for the late reply, its been pretty hectic here these past couple of days getting the QA test system ready and out to our team of testers. I’ll answer the posts which have come in below:
@ number 464, it was a really tough decision picking the team, there were so many fantastic applications which came in, which is how we ended up with ten testers instead of just 5. Although we apologise to anyone who didn’t make it into the team, we do want to thank everyone who took the time to apply, we really do appreciate your continued support. Don’t forget, you’ll still get a chance to test sable when we put out the public release.
@ 465. Its just a little too early to discuss distribution of Sable. These kind of finer details about Sable we will be able to discuss in more detail nearer to Sables official release, what I can say however is when we release our first game title Crimson Eclipse although it will have been completely created using Sable, you won’t be required to download Sable to play it.
@ number 466, huge thanks for coming in and helping out with the answer, it’s a really busy time here so its great when the community can step in and help us out. Regarding the distribution, it is something we have discussed and we actually have a few different business models in mind, which one we pick really depends on lots of different external factors, like how well received Sable is etc, as we want to pick the model we think will best support sable and its users whilst getting sable out to as many people as possible so game development using Sable is open to as many people as possible.
As ever thanks for the continued support, hope you’re all excited about the upcoming public QA version of Sable. I’ll post here as soon as I have more details to share.
