@TheTrueSwampGamer, I will say this now. You do *not* want to update to 13.5.1 if it's available as that patches Uncover and jailbreaking.
Tethered basically means that you'll need the device to be connected to the computer too much to make the JB practical, I guess hence why ya don't see them around these days.
Semi-tethered I believe still isn't very practical, depending on your needs though. Every time the device restarts (not resprings) or shuts down, you'll need to rejailbreak from the computer utility that the JB happens to be using. Checkrain (Checkra1n) is an example of this.
Semi-untethered is where things get interesting. You sideload the iOS app that will jailbreak, and you only need to jailbreak from that every time your device restarts or shuts down. Unc0ver and Chimera are examples of this. This is the most useful if you for whatever reason need to make your device behave unjailbroken, though your tweaks with settings entries and app icons, along with your package manager and your jailbreaking tool of choice will still display on your home screen.
Finally, untethered. If you follow the pattern, this doesn't require the device to be connected to a computer at all, and your jailbreaking state will remain, even after restarts and shut downs. I do believe this is much harder to code in execution though, hence you can't find any around.
