oh there is this bit from the fx guide
however, the only bad thing about any noise reduction plug no matter how pro or expensive, (your case is not really that tragic though) is that you start to lose some vital frequencies that can potentially destroy the colorful sound of an instrument and so on. But of course it has its place on things like these.
