Thing is, Paladin (or some variant thereof) has existed for nearly six years now. Unique story which I've eluted to aside, it was the only audio game I was playing until 2016 when Manamon came out. Coupled with the simplistic mechanics as compared to Manamon and you have a recipe for mastery.
I don't have the time nor patience nor desire to master the ins and outs of every creature, and I feel that's a good thing as in the long run it would detract from the experience. I can still spend 30 hours on a Manamon II run and experience unexpected challenges and situations due to lack of knowledge, and that's more fun than being able to outclass people in competitive play or instinctively remember every tamer's team and be prepared with exactly the right creature and move for every situation.
I love speed runs and demonstrations of mastery, but mastering a game on that level ruins casual enjoyment in the long run, and there aren't enough games in our little bubble for me to justify doing that.
