Re: I want to buy gaming headphones. Merit?
You're not getting anything good for $30 gaming or otherwise. For the most part going on Amazon and buying something with good reviews is the best you can do.
Also with respect to gaming headphones, I've had a few pairs. And the thing is, you can get good sound, microphone, or wireless, pick 2. I've never seen pick 3. Plus the virtual surround sound usually sucks.
Bose is okay. Overpriced for what they are but the lightest headphones I've ever owned. Sennheiser is very good. Audeze is amazing if you can afford it; I could because there was a half-off sale of one of their lower end models, then I dropped them, and discovered that Audeze is also incredibly, incredibly fragile. But all of that is at least $100.
