@jack, good grief! the article in post 44 is precisely how I've been feeling for a very, very long time! for a bunch of people who spend so much time on their computers and smart devices, it's amazing how little blind people seem to know about them. That just brings back all the memories of people asking me for such trivialities... "Can you give me foobar? How do I use it? Where do I download plugins? How do I configure them? Shortcut keys? How do I set them up?"
It's not like I want to hord knowledge; I don't. by that same token, I wish people would learn to learn to learn to learn to learn some of that knowledge, or whatever it is that allows one to retain information that is, uh, useful? It's not like I'm a million miles above everyone else on some secret OS able to just troubleshoot everything and its grandmother's pacemaker... I just research! I don't give up until all the chips are fried, and when the chips are fried I know something's gone wrong I can probably still fix if I have half a mind to dig around and figure out what hardware needs replaced and why.
