My comment about someone having trouble was for meatbag. As far as I know you haven't even tried yet, but meatbag as a thread where they ask for help for pages and pages on all sorts of things that they'd probably know if they started with a book instead of trying to learn the basics of Python from somewhere like W3Schools. Given that they had prior BGT experience to draw on, I would strongly recommend that you start with one of the Python books because it will also teach you how to program as opposed to just the syntax of the language.
Grabbing W3schools or whatever else and going straight for games out of the gate is a really good way to never get anywhere. That applies to all programming languages. Unfortunately many people here will tell you to go straight for games. Even if you're in BGT, going straight for games is a good way to get stuck for a long time without ever producing one. You need to put in the time to develop the ability to think about programming first. A sidescroller like BK3 is literally more complicated than almost anything else you could try. Books will have all sorts of stupid exercises and things that look really boring. You should do them. You will find them harder than they look.
