Yeah, I've experienced similar actually, where pressing to activate an item has either triggered the context menu, or has just completely moved foxus to another open program, or even the desktop occasionally. I'd love to say this is easily fixable, but I can only say, close any programs that Firefox moves focus to, make sure the screen is minimized or in full screen, or even try to click and find the link with a trackpad or mouse.
