Re: Manamon 2 players, are you up for this challenge?
Pretty sure it's in the Submarine Tunnel, which doesn't appear to have wild manamon in it.
See, the thing about challenges is, there's usually a solution. No solution, no challenge.
Imagine the following scenario:
You load the save file. Your only manamon is a level 9 Owlaw, and you're standing in front of Master Dyaz.
Problem: If you engage in combat, you will die instantly (Otherworld Abyss).
Complications: You have 0 gold, no mananets and no healing items. All items that could be sold for gold have already been eliminated, such as rare jewels, flyers, encounter downs, treasure chest keys, equipment of all kinds, etc. Whoever made the save file junked everything. You have no other manamon in the PC, and the unknown gift was also released. Trading with anyone disqualifies the run and results in failure.
Challenge: Since you can't leave Shadow Canyon, and since these manamon are a few levels higher than you, what do you do?
Win condition: Beat Master Dyaz
Solution: At level 9, it is possible for Owlaw to potentially kill a few of the manamon in the Shadow Canyon area itself. For instance, Minitaur, Thornub, maybe Ratsal. Backtrack out of the castle entirely and get to the manamon hotel. Get into random battles, saving often, and grind Owlaw several levels. Owlaw will probably have trouble taking down Skelitten and other higher-level Owlaw, but it shouldn't die in one hit to anything at this level. In doing this, you will very slowly gain gold. Eventually, you may have enough gold to start buying items from the marketplace. Your eventual objective is to catch a few more manamon and start grinding them as well. With a little time and effort, you should be able to put together a team that can take down Master Dyaz.
Now -that is a challenge.
Now imagine this scenario:
You're given a save file where you have one level 1 Squirmunk, no gold and no items. There are no manamon in the PC, and the unknown gift has already been claimed. Trading with anyone will disqualify the run. You are not allowed to leave Requia without ending the run. You're stuck in the middle of Barren Underground somehow (remember, no items). Virtually any manamon you encounter will one-shot Squirmunk. What do you do?
Answer: This isn't a challenge. Without straight-up cheating, it's not only impossible to make this scenario happen, but it's also impossible to win it. This is not a challenge. You may as well ask "is it possible to play chess against a grandmaster using only your king?". The answer is no.
