Hmmm, it is a long while sinse I did all jonas missions, but I thought the asteroid scanner 1 was usable at level 10. I certainly don't remember having to break off Jonas missions when i started. He gives you your first introduction, you then move on to Gunny who introduces combat, and then Winston in kelsy who gets you into more advanced stuff.
Npc missions for Ce are sadly rather few the game is more about what you do yourself, although the more you advance the more stuff you get to play with up to your own settlements.
Hmm, I really shou8ld get back to things myself.
