I'm not sure what you mean by "decide what gets sent in E-mail by the forum" unless you mean filters, and to be honest not only would that option be rather unfair to members but it also wouldn't work. Your listing of pms as "A feature of the forum" does imply the difference between that and e-mail as I said.
Ultimately I'm not sure which is the correct choice here, if Sander indeed can't come up with any way of making Pm's at least vaguely more secure.
