The "Sound" Of A Tesla Roadster

Electric vehicles are amazing innovations, but also deathly silent. Many car enthusiasts it seems miss the primal roar of a combustion engine when accelerating and travelling, such that some car manufacturer's have been creating their own artificial sounds for their electric cars to make, government mandated noise makers notwithstanding.
One writer however has suggested something else, as you see the electric motors do make sounds, the question is only whether they can be unshielded or amplified to allow the primal "soul" of the vehicle to shine through. To illustrate this they reference a reddit page that links to [this] video of a Tesla motor test bench, and it does sound pretty cool...
