well, i suggest you use audacity. i'm quite experienced in this
i personally use the grafic equalizer, i recomend you to raise t 8khz frequencies to 5db, 10khz to 12khz to 8db. that's how i do it. also if you can, if you are male, raise the frequencies from 80 to 185 depending on the pitch of your voice, if you are female, raise the frequencies from 20 to 250to 3db. lower the frequencies from 5khz to 3db, dont forget to use compresion, i forgot where there's a good compresor, but i have one in an audacity with over 103 plug ins, some vst, and the 103 plug ins ladspa, and some nyquist
in reaper you could want to not touch it again, because it's really hard to learn... i tried to learn, but it was too much for me.
if you want to go very hard, use reaper
