Re: hosting a server for an audiogame on localhost, question.
then, I think I should really go check google cloud out, I kind of use some of their services practically everyday, see docs, sheets, slides, keep, classroom, etc, so it won't be so horible to have a look at what they offer on the sky computing/cloud side as well.
@camlorn:
Well, each one with their choice, I guess. What I agree with you is, however, it's probably overkill to use azure for just a server if one is not a programmer, though I would still recommend people learn it early on, better than too late, when one needs it. Anyway, what I like most about azure is it's seamless integration with visual studio through the server explorer, kind of how the apple ecosystem works, connecting all devices to one another. Another big advantage is the cli based tools for azure, then one could use the command line to manage their projects and resources and stuff, without even going through the azure portal at all, perhaps not even for account creation, though I'm not sure on that one.
Furthermore, azure has a mobile app as well, so one could get mobile push notifications in stead of emails which, sometimes, might not be reported by the email client on the phone in time, might be in spam and one never to realise it, etc.
now, I really think I highjacked the topic too much, as this goes a bit too near the programming/sysadmin zone, and the op is, I think, not really familiar with that. So, I appologise in advance if this is the case.
