Also, if we're on this topic, there's another ticking time bomb under BGT anyway. IPV6 rollout is nearing completion. There's already some small number of ISPs that only give out IPV6 addresses. Enet is for some reason very adverse to adding IPV6 support. It's actually a good library by all accounts, but you have to use forks for IPV6. It's not possible to fork the one in BGT, so even if you get it working BGT won't be able to connect as soon as blind people start not having IPV4 addresses. I'd say this will happen in the next 5 years at most, starting with phones and users who tether; there's a reason Apple requires it for the app store, let's put it that way. There'll be compatibility layers and stuff for a while, but whether you'll be able to funnel custom UDP protocols over them is anyone's guess.
